EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is one of the approaches I offer in counseling. We can discuss whether it fits your needs and goals.
You don’t have to have the right words or everything figured out to begin. There is room for your story, just as it is.

I’m Carla Tilghman, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor serving adolescents and adults in Arkansas. This practice begins with a simple intention: to offer a welcoming space where people can feel heard and explore what matters to them.
Counseling is an opportunity to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and consider the next step at your own pace.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy yoga, hiking, spending time in nature, being with my family, and traveling. My experiences as a mother and my background in law enforcement inform my perspective, while I remain curious about each person’s unique story.
My areas of focus include EMDR, perinatal mental health, and support for first responders.
I work with adolescents and adults, with particular interests in trauma, the transition to parenthood, and the experiences of first responders.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is one of the approaches I offer in counseling. We can discuss whether it fits your needs and goals.
I have training in perinatal mental health and offer support during pregnancy, postpartum, and the adjustment to parenthood.
With a background in law enforcement, I bring familiarity with first responder culture and the demands of the job, including occupational stress and its impact on life beyond the shift.
I entered law enforcement in 2012. My background in both fields gives me familiarity with the culture, responsibilities, and pressures of the job. Whether you’re carrying difficult calls, feeling constantly on alert, or struggling to leave work at work, counseling offers space to talk about what you’re experiencing.
Cumulative stress, shift work, and the demands of the job can affect sleep, relationships, and life beyond the shift. You don’t have to wait until things feel unmanageable to reach out.
Connect with CarlaAs a mother, I appreciate how much life can change during pregnancy and postpartum—the interrupted sleep, shifting identity, and pressure to keep going while caring for someone else. My own experience does not tell me what yours has been; I want to understand what this season is like for you. Alongside my training in perinatal mental health, that perspective informs a compassionate space where you can talk openly about the feelings that don’t always fit the expectations of parenthood.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or simply unlike yourself, you deserve care and support, too.
